Franchise operator Boss Pizza has confirmed it will open a Derby store as part of its next wave of UK expansion.
The brand, founded during the pandemic by entrepreneur Ajmal Mushtaq, is set to take over the former The Pizza Man unit at 1,255 London Road. The site sits on one of the city’s busiest routes and will become Boss Pizza’s first Derby outlet.
Boss Pizza currently operates six stores across England and Scotland and has outlined five new openings, including Derby, Clydebank, Oldham, Hemel Hempstead and Milton Keynes.
Speaking during a visit to the locations, Mushtaq described the Derby site as a prominent and high-traffic pitch that will form a key part of the company’s growth plan.
“Derby is a busy location, very prominent, and it’s going to be a very exciting project,” he said.
The business is also advancing additional sites in Nottingham, Sheffield, Luton and Rochdale as it accelerates its rollout. Mushtaq previously ran the award-winning Indian restaurant Mushtaqs in Hamilton.
